Buena Vista Social Club at Carnegie Hall (CD)
Buena Vista Social Club at Carnegie Hall is the second album ever released by the legendary original lineup of the Buena Vista Social Club, featuring some of Cuba's most iconic musicians, including Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo, Compay Segundo, Cachaíto López, and Guajiro Mirabal.
This live recording captures the unforgettable Carnegie Hall concert, a once-in-a-lifetime event that will never be replicated. The concert was also the centrepiece of Wim Wenders' award-winning film, which helped share the remarkable story of the musicians behind the band with the world.
This historic performance, and the album was produced by Ry Cooder and the same talented team behind the original Buena Vista Social Club album. Along with the stunning music, the release includes previously unpublished photographs from the concert, as well as a 4,000-word sleeve note written by Ry Cooder and the musicians themselves.
The performances captured on this album are nothing short of extraordinary, brimming with collective joy, warmth, and an undeniable sense of triumph that resonated between the band and their audience that unforgettable night in 1998.
