Nuages (Orange Vinyl)

The music on this album is one of the last recordings of the great Django Reinhardt. Shortly after recording these sessions, Reinhardt died unexpectedly in 1953, at the age of 43.

The quartet recording was made by the French company Blue Star, but produced from across the ocean by Norman Granz, who issued it in the United States on his Clef label. It was meant to be the beginning of an close collaboration between Django and Granz, which unfortunately never came to pass.
