'Strangeways, Here We Come' is the poignant final chapter of The Smiths' discography, released in September 1987, shortly after the band's split.

Showcasing Johnny Marr's intricate compositions and Morrissey's evocative lyrics, this album is a culmination of their artistry, and remains Marr's favourite of all of their albums.  He has stated that despite being their last album, Strangways doesn't suffer from any perceived flaws related to the band's breakup.
