Blue World (Vinyl)
Only released in 209, Blue World was a soundtrack for a Canadian film recorded by John Coltrane and his iconic Quartet - featuring pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones, and recoded by Rudy Van Gelder.
The 37-minute session caught the classic Quartet at the absolute peak of their cohesion. Chronologically, it was recorded in a tight window right between two of Coltrane's defining 1964 masterpieces: Crescent and A Love Supreme.
