Either/Or is the brilliant 1997 indie-folk album by the late American songwriter Elliott Smith. The album is named after the 1843 book by Danish philosopher, Søren Kierkegaard.

It features raw, acoustic songs with quiet vocals and sharp, melancholic lyrics. The minimalist record balances profound sadness with gorgeous melodies, serving as a defining masterpiece of lo-fi singer-songwriter music.
