Meat is Murder (Vinyl)
Meat Is Murder is the second studio album by English rock band the Smiths, released on 11 February 1985 by Rough Trade Records.
It became the band's only studio album to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart, and stayed on the chart for 13 weeks.
After the band's 1984 debut studio album, lead vocalist Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr produced Meat Is Murder themselves, assisted only by engineer Stephen Street, who they'd met on the session for "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now".
The album received four stars from Uncut, Q and Pitchfork.
