Gilberto Gil (Brown Vinyl)

Gilberto Gil's 1971 self titled album was recorded during the artist's exile in London. Its lean production style consisting of acoustic guitar and electric guitars, and percussion, was helmed by Ralph Mace, who had also worked with Caetano Veloso. 

Of the eight tracks in English, six were previously unreleased, three of them composed in partnership with the singer and composer from Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Mautner. 'Volkswagen Blues', released in 1969 on the LP 'Cérebro Eletrônico', which reappeared with new arrangements and lyrics, and 'Can't Find My Way Home', by the English singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Stevie Winwood, completed the repertoire.
